Sports Programming
The City of Whitewater Parks & Recreation department offers a variety of programs throughout the year for all ages.
Adult Softball
Registration deadline is late April
Summer Softball Competition is offered in men’s and coed slow-pitch softball leagues. Play is offered to resident and non-resident players. All games will be played at Starin Park. We will look to start games in the second week of May. Men’s games will be played on Tuesday nights, and Co-ed will play on Sunday evenings. Your team fee must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Adult Kickball
Registration deadline is late August
The Adult Kickball league will run on Monday nights in the fall, starting in September for 8 weeks. Playoffs will be in November 2023. Teams can be coed, men's or women's only. There is a minimum of 4 teams required to run the division/league. If there are not 4 teams in a division, that division will not be run. Teams must play with a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 10 on the field.
Dance Program
Registration deadline is early February
Are you ready to Dance? Classes will be offered for those in the beginner stage all the way through adult. A variety of dance classes will include Tap, Ballet, African, and Creative Movement.
K/1st Grade Flag Football
Registration deadline is is mid-May & mid-July
This program will serve as an introduction to football for boys and girls in grades 4K and 5K. The program will focus on skill-building through drills and fun competitions. Depending on progress, a scrimmage or game may be held at the conclusion of the session.
Little Dribblers Basketball
Registration deadline is mid-October
A skill building basketball experience for elementary children. An emphasis is placed on learning basketball skills, the game of basketball, and having fun! Adjustable basket heights will be used in correlation to age group. Each participant will receive a participation shirt!
Pickleball
All year - No online registration
PickleBall is a fun, social, easy-to-learn game that is a cross between badminton, table tennis, and tennis. It’s is played on a smaller court, with large paddles and a wiffle-like ball. You don’t need to be athletic or strong to play. Show up for open play. People are rotated in and out to play and learn. Adults 55 and better are welcome to play.
Quad County Youth Baseball
Registration deadline is early April
The Quad County League is comprised of teams from surrounding communities. This program is offered at the 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th grade level. Practices will be held twice a week before games start, and at least once a week during the season. Practices will be anywhere from 4:30pm-7:30pm depending on the coach’s availability. From mid-April to mid-July, games are typically scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings. There is an end-of-the-season league tournament. The tournament is typically held the third week of July. Each player will receive a game jersey. Baseball players will receive a hat.
Quad County Youth Softball

A step up from Tee-Ball, the Rookie Ball program will place emphasis on building off of previous skills, learning game situations, rules, and having fun! The first two weeks will consist of all players practicing on the same field, working on drills, and rotating through stations. This is a coach pitch program. Players will be divided into teams and be assigned to a volunteer coach. Each player will receive a team jersey. Teams will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:15-7:15 p.m. starting June 6th, at Starin Park. We are looking for businesses to sponsor each team!
Start Smart Baseball
Registration deadline is early April
The skills focused on include hitting, throwing, catching, and running bases. The class meets on Field #4 at Starin Park. During inclement weather, classes will be held in the Downtown Armory Gym. If your player has a glove or foam bat, they are encouraged to bring it with them!
Start Smart Soccer
Registration deadline is early April & late May
The skills focused on include trapping,
dribbling, passing, and being a goalie. If
you choose to select the program with no
supplies, please be sure to bring a soccer
ball and shin guards to each practice. If
you choose to select the program with
supplies, each participant will receive a
participant kit that includes two different
size soccer balls, a set of youth shin
guards, and 4 soccer cones to keep. There
will be two sessions offered during the
spring and summer.
Summer Tennis Program
Registration deadline is mid-May & mid-July
Whitewater Parks and Recreation Department and Reese Brantmeier are working together to bring top-notch tennis classes to Whitewater area children. Skills that will be covered consist of serving, forehand, backhand, and footwork, along with learning the rules of the game and how to score.
Shooting Stars Basketball
Registration deadline is mid-October

Tae Kwon Do & Self-Defense
Year around with various registration dates
This is an introductory class for the art of Tae Kwon Do which loosely translates to the way of the foot and fist. In this course, kids will learn all the basic punches, kicks, and blocks through a variety of fun drills and games. In addition to the physical conditioning, the kids will learn the basics of martial arts such as respect and
discipline. Besides Tae Kwon Do, the students will have the chance to learn and practice self-defense techniques that can be applied in real-life situations. All skill levels are welcome. So if you are looking for a fun way for your kids to be active, develop more self-confidence, and learn
how to protect themselves, sign up for Tae Kwon Do. Geared for ages 6–12.
Tee Ball

Youth Flag Football
Registration deadline is mid-July
Separate coed teams will be offered for grades K/1st, 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th. Practices will begin early August. Practices are scheduled per the volunteer coach. Two practices will be
held during the weeks prior to games starting. Once games begin, teams will practice once per week. Whitewater teams participate in a league with neighboring communities. Games are typically played on Saturdays. The game schedule varies based on field availability. All teams playing in the Quad County Football
League will play at Perkins Stadium at UW-Whitewater on a Saturday still to be determined.
